DJ DAT-MOT HISTORY
Dat most used to listen to bands like DEVO, Gary Numan, The Talking Heads, B-52's and the Clash in the early eighties which progessed later into Depeche Mode, New Order, The Cure and almost everything on the Industrial Wax Trax/Play It Again Sam/TVT label. Early 1990 he started to spin at home making mix tapes of his favorite songs from the hundreds of dollars of records that he was buying each week while he also played at a few small parties. The music and going to the clubs was just so exciting to him at that time. Then with the wave of Techno to hit Hawaii (around late 1993), Dat kind of dropped out of it and concentrated more on his own music production. In 2001, Dat started to DJ again with Nocturnal Sounds a.k.a. Neutral Ground. Nowadays, Dat-Mot is mostly known locally as a Industrial-Synthpop-EBM-Gothic-'80s DJ who also likes to spin most every Electronic genre. He likes to find "undiscovered tracks" and expose them to the scene along with playing old-school club tracks.
